    Thabiso Mbusi
Current Institute Attending : Walter Sisulu University
Current Course : Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
More about my journey :

Student Bio : My name is Thabiso Mbusi and I am a second year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) student at Walter Sisulu University. I am from a very disadvantaged background. My mother is a street vendor and I never knew my father. I am the first born to my mother. I have 2 siblings who are dependent on my mother. One is also a student at Walter Sisulu University and the other one is still at high school doing his matric. My mother has always supported us throughout our studies with the little that she has. My tuition fees are too expensive for my mother. I am writing this letter to seek for funding.
Motivation : I am a very hardworking and goal-oriented person. I strive for excellence in everything I do. I have always excelled in my studies. During my high school years, I was always top of my class. When I was in grade 12, I was awarded the "Best Achiever Award". I did my first degree in Bachelor of Medicine in Clinical Practice at Walter Sisulu University and I was always number one in my class. I graduated in 2020 with an average of 79%. Academic excellence is what I have always strived for and what I will always strive for. Studying Medicine has always been my childhood dream. I made a vow to myself that I won’t stop studying until I become a medical doctor. I saw how people from my town struggled for medical assistance because of the shortage of doctors and decided to be part of the solution to this problem. I want to serve my people and ensure that they receive the best medical care possible. My dream is to work for my community and give back to them. I am a people-oriented person and love serving people. I am currently in leadership of Students’ Christian Organisation on campus and I am also part of my church’s youth leadership. I am a natural born leader. Studying medicine will develop me a lot as a person. Getting a sponsor for my education would help me realise my dream of being a medical doctor. Without funding, I won’t be able to continue with my studies and that will be a hindrance to my vision of serving my community. Being sponsored for my medical studies will help me acquire all the relevant medical training. Funding my studies would be great investment and I will strive by all means possible to ensure that I prove myself worthy of it. I am currently not funded by any sponsor. I am not eligible to apply for NSFAS as they funded my first degree.

    Phuti Mojela
Current Institute Attending : North-West University
Current Course : BSc Quantitative Risk Management
More about my journey :

Student Bio : I am the only son to a single mother who has been unemployed for most of my high school years, up to my current year of school. Growing up, I had to stay with my extended family for the most parts, as well as staying in a cottage in my high school yard from Grade 11. Finish my high school staying in the school yard helped me to fully focus on my academics - although it was not easy having to look out for myself from a tender age of 17. It has further helped me to find my passion in investment and datasciences, which I elaborate on, from the next paragraph.
Motivation : Quantitative Finance and Datascience are central to corporate decisions in the modern era. With my leadership attributes, I dream of leading divisions of investment datasciences, within in the big corporate spaces, to inspire business growth - as a result of informed investment decisions. Understandably, the corporate world is a paced environment with pressures that are hard to adjust to - however, my grit and determination to reckon with the corporate world from the highest level is what will keep my performance on its' peak. As I am in my penultimate year of my BSc Quantitative Risk Management, I am hoping that I can get a sponsor that reckons with my ambitions of the corporate world - so that I can learn and navigate my career path from an ideal corporate setting.

    Aviwe Nisakhe Mkosana
Current Institute Attending : University of KwaZulu-Natal
Current Course : Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
More about my journey :

Student Bio : I am a highly motivated and dedicated student with strong interpersonal and communication skills, I am writing this to ask you to support me in academic finance as this will help me accomplish or rather reach my goal of becoming a medical doctor. I am Aviwe Nisakhe Mkosana currently enrolled at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Motivation : With the funding I can acquire from the PPS Bursary I seek to undertake my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of KwaZulu Natal. I have a strong urge to take my education further as my initial dream has always been to purse MBChB but due to funding constraints, I cannot afford my education further. Raising funds to pay for the registration fee was very difficult because I solely depend on my mother (Nosisa Mkosana) whom is a single parent that supports a lot of children. Due to funding unavailability, I currently cannot pay my tuition fees and residence fees hence being considered for this funding would and will be of great assistance in my studying journey. My father is a distant father or rather an absent father in life. At home I live with my mother, older brother, little sister, and six cousins born by the late Nombedesho Mkosana (my mother’s sister) and Nontembiso Mbombo (my mother’s cousin). With my excellent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in my entire academics, I have always been a bright student, I have endeavours to further my studies but without funding for my education, and I am unable to get there.
