Amyoli Simani
Current Institute Attending : Walter Sisulu University
Current Course : Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
More about my journey :

Student Bio : My name is Amyoli Simani from a small town called Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape. I am an 18-year-old black female who aspires to become a medical doctor, however without financial assistance, the vision I have for my life will become a distant dream. I am a first year MBChB student at Walter Sisulu University.
Motivation : MBChB student at Walter Sisulu University. I come from a strict family where education is highly esteemed. It is my greatest desire to uphold this family tradition, but financial challenges pose a serious threat in furthering my education. My mother is an unemployed university student who is not funded. My father is an ordinary school teacher who is the breadwinner of three households. Many family members are solely dependent on his income. Despite the financial challenges over the years, I have managed to maintain good grades. I am a hardworking student, having achieved an aggregate of 85% for my final NSC examinations. I am willing and able to work hard towards obtaining an MBChB degree. Having been exposed to the deep rural areas of the Eastern Cape, where there is shortage of medical practitioners in many health centres and where sick people are forced to travel long distances for medical assistance; it is my passion to serve my country, especially my province, in that regard. Being given a bursary will not only immensely change my family situation but will also benefit many people from disadvantaged backgrounds who need medical attention. Over all, me having this opportunity will empower young black women to strive for success despite the adversity in their lives.

Mihlali Ntyikwe
Current Institute Attending : University of Pretoria
Current Course : Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
More about my journey :

Student Bio : My name is Mihlali Ntyikwe, 24, and I was born and raised in the Eastern Cape Province, Umtata. I moved to Johannesburg in 2014 where I started Grade 11 at Greenlane college. I matriculated in 2015 but I was not elated with my results despite boasting a bachelor's degree pass with 2 distinctions. I decided to re-do my matric in 2017 in the same school and produced better grades but then I took a gap year in the subsequent year. In 2019, I got admitted at Walter Sisulu University for Bachelor of Medicine in clinical practice where i graduated as a Cum laude candidate in 2021. I was finally admitted for Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the university of Pretoria in 2022.
Motivation : My financial background is nothing to build home about because my mother is a nurse and my father is unemployed. My mother has 3 other dependents besides myself, making her unable to fund my tuition fees at the university. I would like to plead for a funding because I'm passionate, zealous and goal-directed. I have always had tenacity for medicine and now that I'm finally given the platform, I would like to prove myself. I really hope my plea will be met with warm hearts and that it is at least up for consideration.

Qiqa Lukhanji
Current Institute Attending : Walter Sisulu University
Current Course : Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
More about my journey :

Student Bio : My name is Qiqa Lukhanji from Mthatha . I am 18 years old, studying towards a degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the Walter Sisulu University, currently doing level 1. I would love to complete my degree in the given time period which is 6 years however, I am in need of financial assistance. I am dependent on my mother, who works as a professional nurse also supporting two other siblings of mine, one of which is a one year old who is entirely dependent. Her current monthly income is not sufficient to pay for my studies and for my daily needs.
Motivation : I hope to become a professional doctor in six years and further specialize to become a cardio surgeon and obtaining financial assistance would help me focus on my studies rather than worry about how I am going to pay for them. I have some academic abilities and skills that I have acquired from my high school experience. I completed my matric on 2021 where I passed with 6 distinctions with average of 85%. I have presentation and leading skills as I was also a class leader at high school. At my high school level, I used to assist struggling students by tutoring Mathematics. I also have computer skills. I assure that receiving financial support will greatly enhance my performance. This would help me to complete the career that I have been dreaming about since my childhood.
