Student Bio : My name is Amyoli Simani from a small town called Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape. I am an 18-year-old black female who aspires to become a medical doctor, however without financial assistance, the vision I have for my life will become a distant dream. I am a first year MBChB student at Walter Sisulu University. Motivation : MBChB student at Walter Sisulu University. I come from a strict family where education is highly esteemed. It is my greatest desire to uphold this family tradition, but financial challenges pose a serious threat in furthering my education. My mother is an unemployed university student who is not funded. My father is an ordinary school teacher who is the breadwinner of three households. Many family members are solely dependent on his income. Despite the financial challenges over the years, I have managed to maintain good grades. I am a hardworking student, having achieved an aggregate of 85% for my final NSC examinations. I am willing and able to work hard towards obtaining an MBChB degree. Having been exposed to the deep rural areas of the Eastern Cape, where there is shortage of medical practitioners in many health centres and where sick people are forced to travel long distances for medical assistance; it is my passion to serve my country, especially my province, in that regard. Being given a bursary will not only immensely change my family situation but will also benefit many people from disadvantaged backgrounds who need medical attention. Over all, me having this opportunity will empower young black women to strive for success despite the adversity in their lives.

I matriculated in 2015 but I was not elated with my results despite boasting a bachelor's degree pass with 2 distinctions. In 2019, I got admitted at Walter Sisulu University for Bachelor of Medicine in clinical practice where i graduated as a Cum laude candidate in 2021. I was finally admitted for Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the university of Pretoria in 2022. Motivation : My financial background is nothing to build home about because my mother is a nurse and my father is unemployed. My mother has 3 other dependents besides myself, making her unable to fund my tuition fees at the university. I would like to plead for a funding because I'm passionate, zealous and goal-directed. I have always had tenacity for medicine and now that I'm finally given the platform, I would like to prove myself. I really hope my plea will be met with warm hearts and that it is at least up for consideration.

Thanks to the determination I have and the hard work I’ve put in, I have completed my first and second year successfully and I am registered for my third year in 2022. Student Bio : I am the only son to a single mother who has been unemployed for most of my high school years, up to my current year of school. Growing up, I had to stay with my extended family for the most parts, as well as staying in a cottage in my high school yard from Grade 11. Finish my high school staying in the school yard helped me to fully focus on my academics - although it was not easy having to look out for myself from a tender age of 17. It has further helped me to find my passion in investment and datasciences, which I elaborate on, from the next paragraph. Motivation : Quantitative Finance and Datascience are central to corporate decisions in the modern era. With my leadership attributes, I dream of leading divisions of investment datasciences, within in the big corporate spaces, to inspire business growth - as a result of informed investment decisions. Understandably, the corporate world is a paced environment with pressures that are hard to adjust to - however, my grit and determination to reckon with the corporate world from the highest level is what will keep my performance on its' peak. As I am in my penultimate year of my BSc Quantitative Risk Management, I am hoping that I can get a sponsor that reckons with my ambitions of the corporate world - so that I can learn and navigate my career path from an ideal corporate setting.

I am Aviwe Nisakhe Mkosana currently enrolled at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Motivation : With the funding I can acquire from the PPS Bursary I seek to undertake my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of KwaZulu Natal. Raising funds to pay for the registration fee was very difficult because I solely depend on my mother (Nosisa Mkosana) whom is a single parent that supports a lot of children. Due to funding unavailability, I currently cannot pay my tuition fees and residence fees hence being considered for this funding would and will be of great assistance in my studying journey. My father is a distant father or rather an absent father in life. At home I live with my mother, older brother, little sister, and six cousins born by the late Nombedesho Mkosana (my mother’s sister) and Nontembiso Mbombo (my mother’s cousin). With my excellent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in my entire academics, I have always been a bright student, I have endeavours to further my studies but without funding for my education, and I am unable to get there.
